Lead coach and founder Mervyn Mensah created Focus Mode as a result of Mervyn’s own personal story of overcoming personal challenges with family breakdown, disadvantage, homelessness, academic failure, negative influences and a subsequent short spell of street crime; he has gone on to use his further experiences, professional skills, management expertise and his understanding of the factors affecting young people to develop Focus Mode as a respectable and chosen resource for engagement in educational settings.
Focus Mode comes equipped with the founder’s wealth of 15 years professional experience and training working extensively with young people and teams in various settings including NHS, Public Health Behaviour Change, HMP Feltham Young Offender Institute, Youth Offending Teams, Secondary Schools and Looked after Children (LAC) & Leaving Care Services.
Focus Mode exists to raise the standards and improve academic and social outcomes for young people and to provide professional development for the staff teams that support them.
